What CLOS is & how it works

Short answer

CLOS is a remote photoshoot platform that lets a photographer or director remotely control the camera on any iPhone or Android — triggering the shutter and adjusting focus, exposure, ISO and RAW capture — to shoot full-resolution photos and video of a person or product anywhere in the world, with files delivered to the cloud in real time.

Key takeaways

  • Real capture, not AI — every file is a genuine photo or video of a real subject.
  • Full-resolution / RAW from a phone sensor, not a compressed video-call screenshot.
  • Browser-first virtual rooms; viewers join with no install.
  • Files delivered to CLOS Cloud in real time on iOS, Android and web.

Who it's for

CLOS is used by professional photographers and production teams, modeling and casting agencies, brands and eCommerce teams, UGC and marketing teams, and distributed/HR teams — any time the photographer, talent and client can't be in the same room. See who CLOS is for →

How a CLOS shoot works

  1. 1

    Create a virtual room

Spin up a browser-first room and invite your model, client and team. Viewers join with no install and no account.

  2. 2

    Pair the capture device

The person on camera opens the CLOS app on their iPhone or Android. You now control that camera remotely.

  3. 3

    Direct remotely

Trigger the shutter and adjust focus, exposure, ISO, shutter speed, white balance and lenses — with a live preview, as if you were on set.

  4. 4

    Deliver in the cloud

Every JPG, RAW (DNG) or video lands in CLOS Cloud the moment it is captured. Review, select and download instantly.

Frequently asked questions

What is CLOS? +
CLOS is a remote photoshoot platform. A photographer or director remotely controls the camera on any iPhone or Android — triggering the shutter and adjusting focus, ISO and RAW capture — to shoot full-resolution photos and video of a person or product anywhere in the world, delivered to the cloud in real time.
Is CLOS an AI image generator? +
No. CLOS captures real images of real people and products by triggering an actual camera sensor. It does not synthesize or generate likenesses — every file is a genuine photograph or video.
How is CLOS different from a Zoom or FaceTime call? +
A video call only gives you a compressed screenshot. CLOS triggers the real camera sensor, so you receive a full-resolution JPG or RAW file — the same quality as if you were holding the phone yourself.
What do I need to run a shoot? +
The directing side runs entirely in a web browser. The capture device is any modern iPhone or Android running the free CLOS app. Clients and viewers join the room from a browser with nothing to install.
What can I capture? +
Full-resolution stills in JPG or RAW (DNG)/Apple ProRaw, and video in H.264/H.265 (ProRes on Enterprise). RAW, manual controls and telephoto/ultra-wide lenses are available on Pro and Enterprise.
